Timothy “Speed” Levitch. Subject of documentary, “The Cruise“, and enviably charismatic New York (and now Kansas City) tour guide — he’s a one-of-a-kind. I would quote him, but it just wouldn’t be quite the same coming from anyone else. If you happen to be in New York this weekend, he happens to be giving a few walking tours. Otherwise, I recommend this footage from the aforementioned documentary film. Something to consider!

There have been people living and working on Blenheim Farm in Westmoreland County since the beginning of the eighteenth century. The place is now farmed by a family called Latane and home to fifteen acres of organic produce. Pieces of decorated stoneware and porcelain, green glass, bits of metal and bottles turn up after a storm. Bricks are abundant as evidence of an old kiln. Arrowheads are a rare find but dozens have accumulated in recent decades. These pieces I found while working in the chard following a heavy storm in May.

“If I was to describe my work in one word I’d say it was — Playful. I take it very seriously to constantly try and be playful. Hess Is More is an integration project. Bringing together different art forms, genres, people, cultures, emotions, sounds. If you think of a piece of music as a rubberband — I like to try and stretch it. Let’s say melancholy in one end, and humor in the other, and see how far you can take it. Bringing oppositions together. ”
